Tree Surgeons in Luton

Tree Surgeons in Luton

Tree work is one of those jobs that’s easy to put off. The tree is still standing, it hasn’t caused any real problems yet, and there always seems to be something more pressing to deal with.

But overgrown trees don’t stay manageable forever. And when they do become a problem blocking light, pushing against a fence, dropping branches it tends to happen quickly.

At Price Tree & Garden Services, we carry out tree cutting, tree removal, and all aspects of tree care across Luton and the surrounding areas. We work with homeowners who need a garden tree dealt with and commercial clients who need larger jobs handled on time and without fuss.

Our team is local, experienced, and straightforward to deal with. Come out, take a look, give you a fair quote that’s how it works with us.

Tree Services We Offer in Luton

Here’s a full rundown of the tree and hedge work we carry out across Luton. If you’re not sure what you need, just call us and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Tree Removal in Luton

There are plenty of reasons a tree needs to come down. It might be dead or dying, leaning in a direction that’s causing concern, or simply growing somewhere it shouldn’t be.

Whatever the reason, we plan every removal carefully before we start. We look at the size of the tree, what’s surrounding it, and the safest way to bring it down without causing damage to your property or garden.

Once it’s down, we cut it into manageable sections and take everything away. You won’t be left with logs stacked against your fence or a pile of branches to deal with yourself.

Tree Cutting in Luton

Tree cutting covers a broad range of work. It might mean reducing the height of a tree that’s grown too tall, cutting back branches that are overhanging a roof or neighbour’s garden, or thinning out a canopy that’s blocking too much light.

A lot of people search for tree cutting when they’re not entirely sure what the job involves. That’s completely fine, we’ll come out, assess what needs doing, and explain exactly what we’d recommend and why. No jargon, no unnecessary work suggested.

Tree Pruning & Crown Work in Luton

Pruning is about more than just keeping a tree looking tidy. Done properly, it removes dead and diseased wood, improves the structure of the tree, and reduces the risk of branches failing in bad weather.

We carry out crown thinning to let more light through without changing the overall shape of the tree. We also do crown reductions for trees that have outgrown their space, and pollarding for trees that need more significant size management over the long term.

Stump Grinding & Removal in Luton

Stumps left in the ground after a tree removal cause more problems than most people expect. They take up space, they’re a trip hazard, and they can attract pests and fungi that spread to other plants in your garden.

We grind stumps down below ground level so the area can be turfed over, paved, or simply left clear. We carry compact machinery that works well in the kind of tight garden access that’s common in Luton’s terraced and semi-detached properties so a narrow side passage or enclosed rear garden won’t stop us getting the job done.

Hedge Trimming in Luton

A hedge that’s kept on top looks good and stays manageable. One that’s been left for a few seasons can become a real project to sort out.

We trim hedges neatly and to the shape you want front garden hedges, boundary hedges, and hedges on commercial sites. We clear up everything afterwards, so there’s no pile of cuttings left on the pavement for you to deal with.

Emergency Tree Work in Luton

If a tree has come down on your property, a large branch has split away, or something looks unstable after a storm don’t leave it. These situations can get worse quickly, especially in high winds.

We respond to emergency tree work calls across Luton as fast as we can. We get to you, assess what needs to happen, and make the situation safe. We’ll also let you know straight away if there’s any further work needed once the immediate problem is dealt with.

Site Clearance in Luton

Overgrown land is a common problem in Luton particularly on older properties, rental homes that have been unoccupied, or development sites that have been sitting idle.

We work with landlords, property developers, and estate agents who need land cleared quickly and properly. Trees, stumps, overgrown hedges, brambles, dense vegetation we clear the lot and leave the site ready for whatever comes next. We work to your timescale and keep you updated throughout.

Residential & Commercial Tree Work in Luton

Tree Services for Luton Homeowners

Most of the homeowners we hear from in Luton have got a tree or hedge that’s been on their mind for a while. Maybe it’s grown too close to the house. Maybe it’s blocking light from the garden. Maybe a previous owner had a tree taken down and left the stump behind.

Whatever the situation, we come out and have a proper look before we suggest anything. We won’t talk you into work that doesn’t need doing, and we won’t give you a vague answer when you ask how much it’ll cost. You get a clear quote and a straight explanation of what’s involved.

Luton has a real mix of property types: terraced houses with tight rear access, larger detached homes with established trees, and everything in between. We’re used to working in all of them. Tight access doesn’t put us off. We carry the right equipment for the job, whatever the space.

Commercial Tree Work & Site Clearance in Luton

Commercial jobs come with different pressures. Deadlines matter. Other trades might be waiting on the land being cleared. Tenants might be moving in. Whatever is driving the timeline, we work around it.

We regularly take on commercial tree work in Luton for landlords managing rental properties, estate agents dealing with neglected outdoor spaces, and property developers who need a site cleared before groundwork can start. We also work with housing associations and facilities management companies who need reliable tree and hedge maintenance on an ongoing basis.

The job gets done on time, the site gets left clean, and you don’t have to chase us for updates. If something unexpected comes up during the work, a hidden stump, more root spread than anticipated, we let you know straight away rather than leaving it as a surprise at the end.

If you manage several properties across Luton and need a team you can rely on regularly, get in touch and we’ll talk through what that looks like.

Why Choose Us for Tree Work in Luton?

There are a fair few tree surgeons operating in and around Luton. So why us?

We’re not going to make claims we can’t back up. Instead here’s what you can actually expect when you book with Price Tree & Garden Services.

We're Straightforward to Deal With

From the first phone call to the end of the job, we keep things simple. You call us, we come out and take a look, we give you a clear price. No vague estimates, no hidden extras that appear on the final bill.

If the job turns out to be more straightforward than expected, we’ll tell you. If something comes up during the work that changes things, we’ll tell you that too before we do anything, not after.

A lot of people have had bad experiences with tradespeople who go quiet after sending a quote or turn up late without a word. We understand why that puts people off. We try to be the opposite of that.

The Practical Stuff

We Know Luton

That local familiarity matters. It means we turn up to a job with a realistic idea of what we’re dealing with, not a blank slate that adds time and cost to the day.

Very Please!!
Jim and the team came to my house to remove some trees that I had booked in. When the team arrived, I had some additional trees that needing tidying up for the summer and they were more than happy to add this to the work they had for me. After talking with the team and finding out that they also offer jet washing, so I have booked this in for next week.

I have recommended Jim to my neighbours !

I’m really pleased with the service from this company. From the first contact, communication was clear and professional. They arrived on time, explained everything clearly, and carried out the work exactly as agreed.
The job was completed to a high standard, and they worked efficiently and safely throughout. They were respectful of the property and left everything clean and tidy once the work was finished.
Overall, a reliable and professional service that I would happily recommend to others.

had a hedge that had got well out of control and was far to high and much too big a job for me to deal with. I called Jim to give me a price, he came out the same day, gave a price that I was happy with and was able to do the job a day later. Well, what a difference, he made an excellent job making the top almost completely level and very neat, not an easy task considering the thickness of the hedge. He removed all of the clippings, including a huge pile that I had already cut out and left my garden tidy.
I will be recommending him to all my friends and would have no hesitation in
recommending his service to anyone.

Jim and his team came over to remove two trees today out my garden and they were both so professional and done an amazing job! Would definitely
recommend to anyone. Jim came over for a free quote the evening before and managed to do the job the next day, couldn't be happier with the results and the work carried out!! And left everything spotless and clean after!
Many thanks again!

Frequently Asked Questions About Tree Work in Luton

How much does tree removal cost in Luton?

The honest answer is that it varies quite a bit. A small tree in an open garden with easy access will cost considerably less than a large tree hemmed in by a building, a fence, or overhead cables.

Other things that affect the price include how the tree needs to come down, how much waste needs clearing, and whether the stump needs grinding afterwards.

The only way to give you an accurate figure is to come out and see the job in person. We do that for free, with no obligation to go ahead. Call us and we’ll arrange a convenient time to visit.

What is the difference between tree cutting and tree removal in Luton?

Tree cutting generally refers to reducing or trimming a tree, cutting back branches, lowering the height, or thinning out the canopy. The tree stays in the ground, just in a more manageable state.

Tree removal means taking the whole tree down, clearing it away, and usually grinding or removing the stump as well.

If you’re not sure which one applies to your situation, just describe what you’re dealing with when you call. We’ll tell you straight away what we’d recommend.

Do I need permission to cut down a tree in Luton?

In some cases, yes. If the tree has a Tree Preservation Order on it, you’ll need written approval from Luton Borough Council before any work can be carried out. This applies whether you’re removing the tree entirely or just carrying out significant pruning.

Properties within a designated Conservation Area also have restrictions. If your home falls within one, you’ll need to notify the council at least six weeks before starting any tree work.

We can help you check whether your tree falls under either of these before we do anything. It’s a straightforward process and well worth doing upfront.

Can you remove a tree stump in a small Luton garden?

Yes, tight access is something we deal with regularly across Luton. A lot of properties in the town have narrow side passages, enclosed rear gardens, or limited space between buildings and standard stump grinding equipment simply won’t fit.

We carry compact machinery specifically for these situations. As long as there’s a reasonable path to reach the stump, we can almost always get the job done without any issues. It’s worth mentioning any access restrictions when you call so we can bring the right equipment on the day.

How quickly can you respond to emergency tree work in Luton?

We aim to get out as quickly as possible. If a tree has come down, a branch is hanging loose, or something looks unstable, call us straight away rather than waiting.

Response times depend on where we are and what jobs are already booked in, but emergency work always gets prioritised. When we arrive, we focus on making the situation safe first, then talk you through what follow-up work may be needed once the immediate risk is dealt with.
